Chapter 8 Setting Preferences

You can customize your Tracks preferences. Click Preferences. This displays a list of the current settings you have.

To change your preferences, click Edit Preferences. This displays:

You may edit one, some, or all of the fields:

  • First name and Last name – This is used for display purposes.
  • Date format – This displays the format in which you would like dates to be shown.

Example:

For the date 31st January 2006:

%d/%m/%Y shows 31/01/2006

%b-%e-% shows Jan-31-06.

  • Title date format – This displays a big date at the top of each page.
  • Time zone – Specify your local time zone here.
  • Week starts – This allows you to specify the Day of the week shown as the start of the week on the pop-up calendar.
  • Due style – This allows you to specify the style in which due dates are shown.

Example: “Due in 3 days”, “Due on Wednesday”

  • Show completed projects in sidebar – This specifies whether or not projects marked as complete are shown in the sidebar on the Home page.
  • Show hidden contexts in sidebar – This specifies whether or not contexts marked as hidden are shown in the sidebar on the Home page.
  • Show project on todo done – This specifies whether or not to redirect to the project page when an action associated with a project is marked complete.
  • Staleness starts – This specifies the number of days before items with no due date get marked as stale (with a yellow highlight).
  • Show number completed – This specifies the number of completed actions to show on the page. If you set this to zero, the completed actions box will not be shown on the home page or on the individual context or project pages. You can still see all your completed items by clicking the Done link in the navigation bar at the top of the pages.
  • Refresh – This specifies automatic refresh interval for each of the pages (in minutes).
  • Verbose action descriptor – When true, show project/context name in action listing; when false show [P]/[C] with tool tips.
  • Mobile todos per page – This specifies the maximum number of actions to show on a single page in the mobile view.
